Outside Festival, June 1-2

A new festival that celebrates all things outdoors, this inaugural event will take over Civic Center Park with music, immersive experiences, speakers, films and gear vendors. The lineup features Fleet Foxes, Thundercat, Lettuce, Say She She and Andrew Bird.

Founded by local jam band Magic Beans, this fest is the one for music and recreation lovers. The festival site at the base of Vail Mountain offers rafting, biking and hiking on a wide selection of trails. There’s also plenty of family-friendly activities and a beer garden with tasty treats from local vendors and breweries.

The festival’s second year brings a new venue and a more intimate experience, with a lineup that includes indie-rock bands Dawes and JJ Grey & Mofro as well as country singer-songwriter Shane Smith & the Saints. Plus, acoustic artist Matthew Ryan performs Friday night. Caveman also features a small craft beer festival and an area with lawn games, skating, art-making and food trucks.
